Patag in Silay City is a famous tourist destination in Negros Occidental because the village is located in the mountainous area of Silay City where the climate is cooler, with several waterfalls, and where springs abound. Patag is located in Mount Silay inside the North Negros Natural Park which is a protected area. This is why most of the forest cover are still intact and you can see towering trees which are probably century-old even along the roadside. Visiting Patag will take you closer to nature and the good thing is, it’s very accessible from the urban centers of Silay City and Bacolod City.

 If you are not into adventure but you just want to escape from your busy work, you can also rent one of the cottages in any resort and you can enjoy pool dipping instead with a great view of nature.

Lad-Lad Resort

 

The Lad-Lad mountain resort will cost you 20 pesos for adults and 10 pesos for kids. And as of accommodation , the price  can range  from 150-1000 pesos. The campsite is  also available  for only 100 pesos. 

The most known resort in Patag is ‘Ladlad’ which is located at the higher part of the mountain being it known to be the last resort before trekking to the waterfalls.

Elena Mountain Resort 

is very near from Lad-Lad Resort. It have a pool, room for rent any sizes. And it is affordable for everyone. The elena mountain resort will only cost you 20 pesos for your entrance fee and 800 pesos up to 3,000 pesos for your room. The camping site is also available where you can  rent a tent for only 100 pesos.   

ILAYA HIGHLAND RESORT

The newest resort developed in patag. The space offers the spectacular view of the surroundings and they also have the infinity pool. Most of the existing Patag resorts have simple facilities thus the Balinese-inspired architectural details of Ilaya and its beautifully landscaped garden really stands out. Ilaya is located in such a perfect spot where you have a scenic view of the mountains, lowland of Silay and you can even see Panay Island in the horizon. Just sitting at the side of the infinity pool, inhaling the fresh air, and just enjoying the view can already be very relaxing.

Entrance fee is P200 which comes with a free brewed coffee or iced tea. The fee is expensive if you compare it with the local resorts which only charge P20 entrance fee. But if you prefer to spend your time in a resort with modern amenities, exclusivity (limited number of guests), the fee is worth it.The resort only opened in August so the facilities are still very limited. There is the infinity pool which gives you a scenic view of the mountains so you can either swim or just lounge and relax by the poolside. Swimming fee is P100.

Jambaro Retreat Resort

A beautiful resort hiding in the mountains of Barangay Patag, city of Silay. An hour away from the city proper taking a trip via Barangay Patag with transportation cost of 45 pesos only from Silay public market. If you have a private vehicle or motorcycle you can use the access road going to Sitio Lantawan plying Bacolod Silay airport road that will take 35-40 minutes.

This route will let you see the Lantawan view and the latest Duyan Café in Silay. So if you're not on a rush you can use this route for you to take pictures or eat snack in Duyan Café and proceed after to Jambaro resort. The Jambaro Retreat Resort will cost you  30 pesos for an entrance fee inclusive of pool access. And for accommodation, the price will  be from 250 up to 2,500 pesos only. The campsite is available for 100 pesos. The Jambaro resort is located in a secluded area that you need to walk for 20 minutes. The way going to Jambaro is within the highway in front of Patag Elementary School. The narrow road going to Jambaro from the highway is not concrete. There are portions that is rocky and some portions are muddy. So if you come before the rain falls that is good, but if you'd come while it's raining. Honestly the road turns into a slippery and prone to accident area. I suggest it's better to take a walk and leave you vehicle at the highway in front of the school.

1. DUMALABDAB FALLS

There are two main waterfalls in Patag–the ‘Dumalabdab’ and the ‘Dam’. Dumalabdab is farther than the Dam which are approximately 15 minutes and 30 minutes walk respectively. Dumalabdab is a bigger falls which the name suggests a raging wild water flow. The road to the main falls is steep and my cause danger so it is advised to be careful and if possible hire a tour guide for a safer trip.






2.PULANG TUBIG WATERFALLS

Pulang tubig is farther from Dumalabddb falls which are approximately 1hr and 1 and a half hr walk respectively. The road to the main falls is steep and my cause danger so it is advised to be careful and if possible hire a tour guide for a safer trip. The Pulang Tubig waterfall is located in the Northern Negros Natural Park, a protected area located in the northern mountainous forest region of the island of Negros in the Visayas. The Northern Negros Natural Park is located some 40 kilometres east-northeast of Bacolod, the largest city and capital of Negros Occidental.

Someone who is planning to go there is basically someone who is looking for an adventure, relaxation with nature, group and family bonding, trekking, or a green escape. Either reason that you will that will drive you to go there is great. If you love trekking we suggest going to both falls and always take a dip at the water and be relaxed. If you just want to relax or bond with a group of friends or family, just bring a tent and barbecue and we are sure that you will find great bonding there.

See? it doesn't have to be expensive  to spend overnight with nature. I can also suggest that  you bring your sweater or jacket with you since it is cold at the place especially at night. You may also bring your food to save , or you could even cook at the resort. Of course you also have to schedule your "jeepney" ride ahead of time so that you can surely get there at your preferred time. So what are you waiting for?
